Abstract
825,616. Packaging triangular portions of cheese. FROMAGERIES GROSJEAN RERES S. A. Aug. 20, 1957 [Aug. 23, 1956, Aug. 10, 1957], No. 26250/57. Class 94(1). A wrapping for a triangular piece of cheese, of the kind comprising a cover foil 2, Fig. 8, and an overlap foil, is characterized in that the cover foil 2 has one or more transverse joints or folds 4 extending completely across the cover foil and forming one or more free edges that can be raised, gripped, and pulled, for the purpose of tearing the wrapper. Fig. 1 shows a cover foil made from two sections 1, 1<SP>1</SP> secured together so as to leave a free edge 3. Fig. 3 shows a cover foil folded to form one free edge and Fig. 5 shows a fold providing two free edges. The free edges may be crimped as in Fig. 5, or have additional strips secured thereto, such as coloured plastic strips Folding foil strip. The band of foil for the cover portion is fed from a roller B, Fig. 10, over a guide roller R, and thence over a guide strip 12 of progressively changing cross-section as shown in Figs. 12 and 13 before being passed through a draw plate 15 and over a pressure roller 16 to form a double fold shown in Fig. 5. The band then passes through a cutting or perforating device machine for division into triangular sections.
