Abstract

997,210. Packaging. R. J. REYNOLDS TOBACCO CO. Dec.11, 1962, No. 46683/62. Heading B8C. A wrapper has an inner liner 1 of fibrous material having an adhesive strip 19 at one or both its ends and an outer metal foil/fibrous material laminate 33, 35 surrounding it with the metal foil 33 on the outside. The inner liner may be folded over to make an end wall. The package is completed by folding over the ends and applying a seal. The liner 1 (Fig. 7) is formed by applying adhesive, by a gapped roller 23, to the edge of the web 3 and then winding it round a hollow mandrel 5, the cutter 15 cutting through the non-adhesive part of the web.
