Abstract
501,475. Sealing-clips for bags; compound sheet materials. HERMANN, H. Feb. 1, 1938, No. 3125. Convention date, Feb. 2, 1937. [Class 94 (ii)] [Also in Group VIII] A clip which may be bent about the mouth of a bag to seal the same, consists of a strip of pasteboard 1, with wires 2, 3 disposed along its longitudinal edges, about which is secured a wrapping 4 of paper, metal foil or regenerated cellulose, by a plastic adhesive. The clips may be produced by running the wires 2, 3 from rolls 10, 11 and positioning the same on either side of a web 1 of pasteboard run from a roll 9. The feed rolls 12, 13 also draw a web of adhesive paper 4 from a roll 14 and a device 15 folds the same about the pasteboard and wires, the rolls 16, 17 pressing the parts together. These latter rolls may also print or emboss the clip materials. Individual clips are severed by a cutter 18, and the edges rounded at 7. In a modification, a plurality of such compound strips may be formed side by side with two cover sheets 4, and then separated along longitudinal lines.
