825,023. Mine roof bars. KNOWLES, S. D., and WELDON, A. E. July 7, 1958 [July 9, 1957], No. 21646/57. Class 20(2) An I-section mine roof bar has two hooks 2 which engage holes 5 or a pin on an adjacent bar, the end of which carries side plates 8 through which a pin 9 passes to connect the bars, the connection being made rigid by longitudinal wedges 12 carried by the adjacent bar which engage abutments 14 on the bar. Strengthening plates 16 are mounted either side of the bar web between the flanges. A stop (not shown) limits the withdrawal of the wedges 12.
