Abstract

1311279 Advancing mine roof supports GULLICK DOBSON Ltd 29 Sept 1970 [30 Sept 1969] 47877/69 Heading E1P An advancing mine roof support system for a face end arrangement comprises a series of frames 11, 12, 13 having spacing means 32, 33, 34 and 52, 53 therebetween as shown, rearwardly-directed cantilever extensions of varied length, see Fig. 2 (not shown) and a flush guard 15 consisting of beams 43 pivotally attached to the device 11 at 44 and connected by a pin-and-slot connection 45 to the device 12. Leaf springs and/or hydraulic rams 38 act on the props to ensure vertical alignment in inclined seams and spare sockets 41 are provided for use with temporary props during servicing. The upper part of the flush guard may consist of plates welded to chains and for details thereof and modified arrangements of flush guards the Specification and Figs. 2, 3, 4 and 5 (not shown) should be referred to
