Abstract

778,624. Props. RUTIGLIANO, N. J. Nov. 10, 1953 [Nov. 10, 1952; Sept. 25, 1953], No. 31168/53. Class 20(2) A telescopic prop comprises an inner member formed of two longitudinal members 4 connected by bross bars 10 offset from the prop axis and any one of which may be engaged by a lever 14 introduced through one of a number of apertures 8 in the outer prop member 1 to extend the prop into operative position. The prop is held in this position by a wedge 13 engaged with a bar 10 and either a hole 8 or the top of the outer member. Several props may be connected end to end by the end plates 2, 5 which have holes for bolts and interengaging studs 7 and holes 3. In Fig. 10 the prop has a socket 16 receiving the end of a girder 20 and pins 22 on the girder engage holes in the socket and a lug 18
