Abstract

823,037. Side-delivery rakes. VAN DER LELY, C. July 20, 1956 [July 26, 1955], No. 22480/56. Class 6(3). A side-delivery rake of the kind comprising rake wheels 41 supported from a wheeled frame 10 and rotated by the interaction of their tines with the ground as the implement is moved forwards, is hand-propelled by means of handles 21 and 22. The rake wheels are supported on a bar 29 having a tube 28 integral therewith, the tube rotatably housing a pin 30 integral with one end of a frame member 27, provision being made for locking the pin 30 and tube 28 in various relative positions so that the angle of the bar 29 with respect to the frame of the rake may be varied. The other end of the frame member 27 is rotatably housed in a sleeve 26 having a pin 25 integral therewith, the pin 25 in turn being rotatably housed in a sleeve 24 fixed to the frame member 11. Any ground irregularities are counteracted firstly by a spring 35 extending between the tube 30 and the frame member 12, and secondly by the rotatable mounting of the members 25 and 27 in the sleeves 24 and 26 respectively. The rake wheels may be as described in Specification 823,038, or alternatively may comprise discs formed with radially extending corrugations and therefore having sinuous edges.
