Abstract

764,751. Side-delivery rakes. BAYERISCHE PFLUGFABRIK AKT.-GES. March 22, 1955, No. 8258/55. Class 6(3). A side-delivery rake comprises a frame 1 carrying ground-wheels 4 and rake-wheels 13, the rake-wheels being arranged in transverse echelon formation and each rake-wheel being urged into contact with the periphery of a ground-wheel so as to be rotated thereby. The frame comprises a pair of tubes 1 bolted coaxially together by flanges 3. The groundwheels are castors the forks 5 of which are journalled on the tubes 1 and are resiliently urged downwardly by springs 6. The rakewheels are journalled on levers 12 pivoted at 11 on the forks 5 and urged downwardly by springs 14. The frame is secured to an arm 7 pivoted to bracket 8 mounted on a castor 9 attached to a tow-bar 10. The rake wheels may be raised and lowered by adjustment of a hand-wheel 20 and screw connecting the members 7 and 8. For swath-turning, one frame-beam may be moved into the dotted position 1<SP>1</SP> and maintained parallel to the other by links 18<SP>1</SP>
