Abstract
622,777. Agricultural rakes. McCONNEL, F. W., and McCONNEL BOMFORD, Ltd. April 3, 1947, No. 9184. [Class 6(ii)] A rotary rake comprises a handle 28 carrying two sets of tines mounted in rotatable holders 10, the axes of the holders being slightly inclined to the vertical, so that the holders rotate as the rake is drawn over the ground. The holders comprise flanged discs and the tines consist of U- shaped rods 14 which are clamped, by rivets 15, between plates 16 and the inner sides of the flanges. The holders rotate on short spindles 17 welded to a carrier 18, the spindles being inclined to one another in a vertical plane. The carrier is bolted to a bracket member 22, the latter having a number of holes through it so that the carrier is adjustable about a vertical axis. The bracket 22 is bolted to a ferrule 31 on the handle by two bolts 29, 30, one of which engages in a slot in the bracket, enabling the bracket to be adjusted about a horizontal axis.
