Abstract

570,593. Agricultural implen.ents. OLIVER, J H. June 26, 1943, No. 10382. [Class 6(i)] Potato-covering ridging implements are mounted on a frame propelled in front of a tractor. The sides 5 of the frame are pivoted to the tractor rear axle. Clamped to the sides 5 is a square tool-bar 7 supporting ridgesplitting shares 2 and triangular plates 11 which carry the shafts 10 of two rollers in advance of and in alignment with the outermost shares. Scrapers 17 are fastened to metal strips 16 mounted between the end plates. The shares, rollers and scrapers are all laterally adjustable to suit the pitch of the ridges. They may be raised from operative position by a lever 26 acting through a link 25, bell-crank 22 and chain 21, the bell-crank being pivoted to a frame 24 upstanding from the frame of the tractor. Depth of working is controlled by a nut 4 engaging oppositely threaded spindles attached to the tool-bar 7 and the bar 13 spanning the foremost angles of the plates 11.
