Abstract
822,359. Fuel residue returning to furnaces; baffles. ELECTRICITE DE FRANCE. Aug. 7, 1956 [Oct. 4, 1955], No. 24219/56. Addition to 753,097. Class 51 (1). In a pulverulent fuel-fired furnace according to the parent Specification, a hollow internally-cooled member has an inner axial passage through which ashes are fed from the upper end to issue from peripheral ports at the lower end. The air-cooled refractory member 15 depending into the combustion chamber has an axial passage 7 leading to side outlets 10, 11 at the hottest part of the chamber. Pulverulent ashes recovered by dust collectors are fed to the top of the axial passage 7 by a mechanical distributer and pass through apertures 10, 11 under the control of a shutter 12 which may be reciprocated parallel to the axis of the passage 7. The ashes pass on to refractory ledges 14, where they melt and drip to the bottom of the combustion chamber. A guide 16 directs the ashes to the apertures 10, 11.
