Abstract

821,236. Magnetrons. RAYTHEON MANUFACTURING CO. Feb. 22, 1956 [Feb. 25, 1955], No. 5531/56. Class 39(1). [Also in Group XXXVI] A multi - cavity magnetron has a cylinder 55 at one end of the anode block connected to alternate anode segments, or two such cylinders 55, 57, Fig. 5, for radiating electromagnetic energy within a waveguide or resonant cavity, or the magnetron may have a single strap at each end of the anode block, or two straps may be provided at one end, one of the straps extending beyond the other. In Fig. 5 conventional double strapping 48 and 52 is provided at each end of the anode block. The cathode is supported by a member 43A which is mounted in a terminal 44, and the cathode filament is attached to a lower terminal 47. The magnetron is mounted within a resonant cavity by means of a spring clip which makes contact with the cathode terminals (see Group XXXVI). The cathode terminals are sealed in glass closures 45, 45A.
