Abstract

820,300. Container closures, packaging. KRAVITZ, N. March 10, 1958, No. 7628/58. Classes 94(1) and 125(3). In a closure assembly a bottle with a flat face 12 has around a cork or stopper 16 a cutter 30 in the form of a flat ring 32 with radially extending tab 34 so as to be rotatable and an outer capsule or seal 50 of viscose, paper, metallic foil or the like is applied to the bottle so that tab 34 projects through an aperture 52, rotation of the cutter 30 by means of tab 34 causing the seal 50 to be severed. In a modification the seal 50 is not apertured but the tab 34 has a pointed outer end to penetrate the seal. In another modification, Fig. 9, the bottle neck 60 is threaded to receive a screwcap 64.
