Abstract
819,229. Foamed grout. BENTHAM CHEMICAL CO. Ltd. April 23, 1958 [May 14, 1957], No. 15295/57. Class 22. Foamed grout for cementing fissures and boreholes contains 0À5 to 2À0 per cent. of a surface active agent. Apparatus for cementing includes a grout mixing tank 1 connected to a pump 4 through piping 5, a hand operated valve 6 controlling the discharge of grout from the tank. Container 7 for the surface active agent is connected to the pipe 5 by a pipe 8 containing a valve 9. A delivery pipe 11 is connected to a pipe 10 which passes through a cap 12 and an outer pipe 14. An air inlet 15 controlled by a valve 16 is provided. In operation, valves 6 and 9 are closed while grout is agitated in tank 1, and container 7 charged with agent. On starting pump 4 and opening valves 6 and 9, grout and agent are drawn through pipes 5 and 11 to the pipe 10, the valve 16 being open, and thence to the borehole.
