Abstract

1,221,306. Cement guns. STEETLEY CHAMBERS Ltd. 23 Oct., 1968 [27 Oct., 1967], No. 49060/67. Heading E1S. A cement gun for supplying slurry from a pressure chamber 10 to a lance via a duct 44 and a flexible hose has a bottom air inlet pipe 34 extending into the end of the duct 44, and "agitator" air inlet pipes 38 a-f, together with a main air inlet pipe 40, all the air being supplied by a pipe 48 which bifurcates into a main channel 54 and a bypass channel 56. The main channel has a regulator 59 to reduce the pressure from 80/100 p.s.i. to 40 p.s.i., and the bypass channel has a mixing pressure regulator 62. The chamber is partly filled with water, and air supplied via the regulator 62 (by-pass channel). Cement is now added at 70/30 parts of cement/water. After a minute or two the main channel is opened, and the cement and water mixed fully. The chamber is sealed, and the lance can then be operated.
