Abstract

815,040. Radial cylinder pumps. ANCIENS ETABLISEMENTS PANHARD & LEVASSOR S. A., DES. June 11, 1957 [June 11, 1956], No. 18314/57. Class 102(1). [Also in Group XXIX] In a rotating radial cylinder pump each piston is actuated by a rocking lever pivoted to a rotating cage, each lever having one arm engaging a stationary cam and the other arm engaging its associated piston. In the embodiment shown the driving shaft 1 is connected to a flywheel 2 and plate 3 forming the cage. Rocking levers 5 are pivoted to the fly wheel at 7 and the plate 3 at 6 (not shown) one arm of which has curved surfaces 18 and 19 engaging rollers 20 secured by pins 22 to the piston while the other arm has rollers 10 mounted on it engaging a cam 13 secured to the pump casing. The cylinder block 25 rotates with the cage and a hydraulic servo-control (see Group XXIX). depending upon the pump delivery causes relative rotation between the cylinder block and cage to vary the stroke of the pistons. This control may also cause necessary movement of the hydraulic control shaft 29.
