Abstract

814,236. Drinking tubes. PUGH, W. A. June 4, 1957 [Aug. 20, 1956], No. 17753/57. Class 14 (2). [Also in Group XVII] A liquid-dispensing container has a countersunk sealed top with an annular plug fitted at one side, a resilient sipper straw fitted in the plug and having a mouth portion releasably held folded over the plug across the top of the container. A tapered straw 15 is wedged in the bore 26 of a press-fitted plug 19 and the upper portion 17 of the straw is held in the position shown in Fig. 2 by a cap 29. For use, a tearout strip 37 formed in the cap is pulled to release the straw end, which springs erect (Fig. 4).
