Abstract

813,824. Printed resistors. PHOTO PRINTED CIRCUITS Ltd. Dec. 23, 1955 [Sept. 23, 1954], No. 27573/54. Class 37. A method of manufacturing an electric resistance as described in Specification 813,823 comprises the steps of forming a patch of insulating material on a sheet of metal foil, forming a layer of resistance material over the patch such that it extends beyond the patch in two opposite directions to provide overlapping ends, fixing the face of the foil bearing the insulating material and the resistance material to an insulating support by means of an adhesive mask of the same material as the insulating patch unit breaking the short-circuit between the overlapping ends by removing at least a part of the metal lying over the patch. The layer of resistance material is preferably formed by a method as described in Specification 813,821 in which a colloid containing suspended graphite is formed on the metal foil by means of a printing process and the adhesive cement is preferably a silicone resin or melamine.
