Abstract
828,291. Inductors. BURNDEPT Ltd., and PHOTO PRINTED CIRCUITS Ltd. Jan. 9, 1956 [Oct. 8, 1954], No. 29118/54. Class 38 (2). An electric inductor comprises a spiral conductor 10 of strip form fixed to a sheet 11 of insulating material, the strip 10 being applied to the sheet 11 whilst in a flat form, the sheet and strip then being placed in a jig and distorted into a dished shape. The inductor may be enclosed in a screening member 16 and provided with a movable ferromagnetic core 17. The dished shape of the inductor is preferably frusto-conical with a solid angle of 90 degrees. The conductor 10 may be formed by fixing a copper foil disc to the sheet 11 and then removing the unwanted foil by means of etching or, in another embodiment, a spiral cut may be made in both disc and sheet, so that when the assembly is distorted to be fixed to a conical support the cut will widen to leave a spiral strip conductor.
