813,694. Shovelling machines. HOWLETT, C. W. April 18, 1957 [Jan. 23, 1956], No. 2164/56. Class 68(1) Secured to and transversely of lift links of a power operated lift linkage of a tractor or of a tractor-drawn trailer is a telescopic boom 12, 49. To one end of the boom is rigidly secured a bracket 13 that supports through a universal joint 14, 20 a second telescopic boom 21, 22 on the end of which is pivotally mounted a scoop 26. Hydraulically-actuated rams 30, 15, 23, 32 control extension and contraction of the booms, slewing of the second boom about vertical and horizontal axes, and pivoting of the bucket relative to the boom. A counter-balancing mass 48 is secured to the other end of the first boom. Specification 747,554 is referred to.
