Abstract

1,025,305. Shovelling machines. POCLAIN. June 5, 1964 [July 12, 1963], No. 23382/64. Heading E1F. Incorporated in a face shovel excavator is a linkage for maintaining the bucket of the excavator at a constant attitude to the material to be shovelled up during the shovelling up of the material. The linkage comprises levers 15, 16 pivotally connected as shown at 14, 17 to the boom 3 and dipper stick 5 of the excavator and links 18, 21, 24 pivotally connected at 19, 20, 22, 23, 25, 26 to the dipper stick, levers, and shovel. Any one of the links 18, 21, 24 may be adjustable in length, such a lever preferably being a double-acting jack. Two other embodiments having differently located jacks 8, 11 are also described.
