[Also in Group XVII] In a wrapping-machine (see Group XVII) a reciprocating pusher 17 for feeding sweets 11 is operated by an arm 23 which is oscillated by a cam or eccentric 31 about its pivotal connection 24 to an auxiliary arm 26 which in turn is oscillated by a cam or eccentric 32 about a fixed centre 27 to impart movement to the connection 24 and thus vary the reciprocating motion of the pusher. This arrangement minimizes the impact effect of the pusher on the sweets, while enabling the machine to be operated at a high speed.
