Abstract

937,875. Baling machines. HARRISON, McGREGOR & GUEST Ltd. July 3, 1961 [May 21, 1960], No. 18007/60. Class 94(1). An agricultural baling machine comprising a baling chamber extending transversely to the direction of the bale travel has auxiliary feed means mounted on the ram 12 to urge material towards the usual reciprocating tines 14 feeding the material through the baling chamber opening 15. In one embodiment two plates 20 are connected to the ram 12 and parts 22 project through slots 21 in the baling chamber wall. Sloped edges 23 ensure that the material is not moved away from the opening 15 during each return stroke. Alternatively, fingers 32 are pivoted on plates 30 so that they may assume the chain dotted position shown on return movement of the ram. In other alternatives coil spring tines may be employed, Figs. 7, 8 (not shown) or fingers mounted directly on the ram. Specification 882,242 is referred to.
