810,156. Umbrellas. PARKER ELLISON Ltd., J. Aug. 12, 1957 [Dec. 8, 1956], No. 37568/56. Class 134 A perambulator canopy comprises an umbrella cover A supported by curved ribs a pivoted to a sleeve mounted on the reduced diameter end of the short arm b of an arm B formed in two parts b, b<SP>1</SP> pivoted together on a pin b<SP>3</SP> which is spring loaded and capable of sliding in a rest in the arm b<SP>1</SP>. The cover is retained on the arm b by a knurled nut b<SP>4</SP> screwed on to or into the end of the arm. The arm b<SP>1</SP> is curved and is slotted at the lower end to engage the pivot pin c of the hood c<SP>1</SP> of perambulator C. The struts a<SP>2</SP> of the umbrella are pivoted to a tube D capable of sliding on the arm B. The upper end of the arm b<SP>1</SP> is provided with a series of notches in which the tube D engages when the umbrella is open to adjust the relative inclination of the arm parts b, b<SP>1</SP>. The umbrella is retained in the desired position above the perambulator by means of a sloted link D<SP>1</SP> attached to the arm b<SP>1</SP> by a bolt d<SP>2</SP> and provided with a U-shaped end portion d<SP>3</SP> and a screw d<SP>4</SP> for engagement with a pin c<SP>2</SP> on the perambulator on which the hood stay c<SP>4</SP> is pivoted.
