Abstract

A rise and fall mechanism for a seat, comprising front and rear links 14, 15 locked against pivoting by cooperation between a threaded rod 10 and a half nut 29. Rod 10 is pivoted at 22 on bell crank arms 21 pivoted (18) to links 14 and rigid with seat frame 13. The half nut 29 is pivotally carried by bell crank arms 24 rigid with links 15. Rod 10 can be disengaged from half nut 29, to allow relative sliding of rod 10 and seat height adjustment, by lifting a handle 35 to 35' to cause a pin 31 holding rod 10 upwards to move to position 31' to allow rod 10 to drop. <IMAGE>
