Abstract

809,044. Fuel injectors. LICENCIA TALALMANYOKAT ERTEKESITO VALLALAT. Sept. 17, 1956 [Sept. 19, 1955], No. 28404/56. Class 7(3) [ALso in Group XIX] A fuel injector comprises a valve 3 surrounded by inner and outer cylinders 2, 1, between which are formed fuel channels 4 leading to an annular space 7 below a disc 5 on which the valve 3 seats, the fuel flowing from the space 7 through bores 8, Fig. 4, in the disc 5 to the pressure space 9 adjacent the valve seat. The channels 4 are formed by ribs on the outer surface of the cylinder 2 and the fuel in flowing therethrough cools the injector and is itself heated. The disc 5 may be provided with projecting pins which engage in corresponding bores in the cylinder 2 and permit turning of the disc, by turning the cylinder 2, to grind it on to its seat. The upper edge of the inner cylinder 2 initially projects a small distance H above the outer cylinder so that when the nozzle is positioned in the engine and the inner cylinder pressed into the outer cylinder by the fastening means acting on the projecting portion, the parts 1, 2, remain under tension and compression respectively. In a modification, Fig. 7, the ribs 4a on the cylinder 2 are arranged so that the fuel is filtered in flowing from the inlet passages 12 to the outlet passages 13 and in Fig. 8, the disc 5 is provided with grooves 19 in its upper surface which lead part of the fuel directly from the passages 4 tangentially into the chamber 9 so as to produce rotation of the fuel therein.
