The sleeve board a which may normally rest beneath the ironing-table b (Fig. 5) has a collapsible trestle-like frame d, d<SP>1</SP> pivoted at d<SP>2</SP> to a rod c cranked at c<SP>1</SP> and of U-form at c<SP>3</SP> (Fig. 6), and slidable in apertured ears b<SP>1</SP> under the table. The sleeve board is positioned for use by pulling out the rod c transversely to the table, turning it so that the crank c<SP>1</SP> raises the board above table level, pushing it in to bring the board over the table, then raising the rear a<SP>1</SP> of the board to extend the trestle structure d, d<SP>1</SP> and cause the upper end d<SP>3</SP> to move, along the loop d<SP>4</SP> to engagement with a shoulder d<SP>5</SP>. To collapse the sleeve board the reverse process is initiated by raising the end a<SP>1</SP> to disengage d<SP>3</SP> from d<SP>5</SP>.
