Abstract
740,219. Ironing-table stands. P. T. P. ENGINEERING CO. (CRADLEY HEATH), Ltd. March 12, 1954, No. 7186/54. Class 52(3). An ironing table comprises rear legs 3 pivoted at 4 to the rear end of the table top 1, front legs 2 pivoted at 5 which is a considerable distance from the front end of the table top, stays 6 pivoted to the rear legs at 7 and front legs at 8, and a folding strut pivoted to the overhanging portion of the table top at 12 which is forward of pivot 5 and pivoted to the rear legs 3 at 13. A plate 18 which is welded on strut member 9 extends beyond joint 11 so as to lie over the other strut member 10, thus preventing the members from being depressed below their position of alignment. Two safety catch devices are described for holding the strut in extended position.
