808,851. Reclining chairs. BUDGE, H. S. May 24, 1957 [Feb. 25, 1956; May 14, 1956], Nos. 5946/56 and 14874/56. Class 52(2) A reclining chair with an inclinable back 13 and a seat 15 which can move both horizontally and vertically has the seat connected to the frame 11 by two pairs of parallel links 16, 17 pivoted to the seat at 18, 19 and to the frame at 20, 21 respectively, and the back 13 pivoted to the frame at 14 and connected to links 17 by links 22, link 17 having stops 26, 27 and the back a stop 25. When the chair is converted to a straight back attitude the seat is raised, the links 17, 18 being of bell-crank form. In a modification Fig. 3, the seat 55 is supported at the rear by links 56 and at the front by members 59 engaging in arcuate cam tracks 60 secured to frame side members, the back 53 being connected to links 56 by links 61. A downwardly extending slot 60a defines the high seat position.
