Abstract

808,525. Motor vehicle driving gear. METALASTIK Ltd. May 27, 1957 [July 16, 1956], No. 22000/56. Drawings to Specification. Class 79(2) [Also in Groups XXIV and XXXII] To prevent rattle of the gear teeth in a motor vehicle change-speed gear when the vehicle is proceeding under light load, a torsionally resilient shaft coupling connects the vehicle engine to the changespeed gear. The shaft coupling comprises a rubber sleeve between two nested shafts, radially directed rubber stops on one shaft engaging radial arms on the other when the torque transmitted through the rubber sleeve exceeds a predetermined limit (see Group XXIV).
