Abstract
807,820. Capsuling bottles. USINES A. VANDERGEETEN. Sept. 27, 1957, No. 30409/57. Class 125(2). In a rotary capsuling machine wherein the cap is surrounded by a crimping mould subjected to fluid-pressure, each head consists of a piston 13 reciprocated vertically by a stationary cam track 15<SP>1</SP> and carrying a cylinder 2 the lower end of which is closed by the crimping mould 5 so that as the piston descends, the cylinder descends until it is stopped by the bottle and then the fluid beneath the piston in space 26 is compressed to crimp the cap, a relief valve 27 allowing fluid to escape to the space 25 above the piston when the desired maximum crimping pressure has been reached. As the piston is raised, fluid can pass from space 25 to space 26 through flap valve 21. The spring- pressure on relief valve 27 can be varied by turning screw-cap 30. The piston and cylinder are urged apart by a spring 17.
