Abstract

807,032. Cargo supports. KWIKFORM Ltd. Oct. 18, 1957 [July 19, 1956; Sept. 5, 1956], Nos. 22328/56 and 27090/56. Class 113. A cargo supporting gantry 9 having means for supporting a similar gantry so that a set of gantries may be arranged in a ship's hold 10, Fig. 1, to permit spaced layers of cargo to be disposed therein. In the embodiment shown in Figs. 3-6 each gantry comprises two supporting elements 14, Fig. 4, each having a detachable cross, bracing 15, Fig. 6, and two upright members 17, Figs. 4 and 5, with spigots 20 adopted to enter into the open ends of the bottoms of the uprights 17 of a similar supporting element 14. Each upright has spigots 25 and clamps 26 for supporting the upright elements 27, Fig. 3, of a beam element 16. The beam elements have clamped thereto putlog tubes 46 which carry deck planking 47.
