861,076. Stanchions for ship's gangway. KNUTSEN & SONS Ltd., L. Nov. 30, 1959 [Dec. 15, 1958], No. 40387/58. Class 113. A device for attachment to the rails 10 of a ship comprises a pair of stanchions 11, 12 having apertures for receiving hooks 20 by which the stanchions are removably mounted on said rails at each side of a gangway 19, the free upper ends of the stanchions being provided with tubular members 22 through which the gangway ropes 23 may be threaded. The hand ropes 18 may be threaded through rings 17 on the stanchions.
