827,045. Hatch covers. MENNENS & CO'S HANDEL-MAATSCHAPPIJ N.V. Dec. 6, 1957 [Dec. 22, 1956], No. 37981/57. Addition to 818,968. Class 113. An improvement in the device for securing ship's hatch covers as described in the parent Specification comprises notched rope supports 3 mounted on a securing strip 1, and provided with braces 37 at each end of the strip 1 so that the ends of the braces 37 are pressed against the tarpaulin clamping batten 41 when the steel rope 5 is tightened. The braces may be pivoted at 39 to the securing strip 1, stiffened by elements 38. The securing strip 1 may be formed in two adjustable telescopic portions and the braces 37 fixedly connected to the securing strip.
