Abstract
941,444. Ships' propeller hoods. CENTRALNE BIURO KONSTRUKCJI OKRETOWYCH. Jan. 30, 1961 [Aug. 5, 1960], No. 3531/61. Heading B7V. A hood 1 is provided on the stern of a single screw ship to direct and accelerate the flow of water towards the upper part of the circle swept by the propeller at its perimeter, preferably the upper third. The hood is secured to the stern by a support 10. The hood can have a streamlined cross-section or a cross-section resulting from a hood formed from part-conical and partcylindrical sections.
