A device for rendering land vehicles buoyant comprises a plurality of inflatable balloons 1 each contained within a network 2 which has strands 3 drawn out so as to provide securing means for attaching the network to the vehicle. The adjacent networks 2 may be connected to one another and a framework 6 may be secured under the vehicle, with the balloons 1 or cylindrically sloped balloons, within the networks 8, attached thereto.
