805,992. Reciprocating electric motors. LENDING, A. April 2, 1957 [April 3, 1956], No. 10790/57. Class 35. [Also in Group XXVIII] The piston 1 of an electrically-operated compressor (see Group XXVIII), is reciprocated by a coil member 2 which resembles and acts like the moving coil in an electro-dynamic loud-speaker. The coil member 2 moves in an air gap magnetized by a stationary permanent magnet NS in soft steel bodies 3, 4 and is attached to a hub member on the piston 1. The reciprocating system comprising the piston 1, the coil member 2 and the hub member are tuned approximately to the frequency of the drawing voltage by means of coil springs 7a and 7b.
