Abstract

1442500 Reciprocating motors H DOLZ 25 March 1974 [5 April 1973] 13166/74 Heading H2A In an oscillating motor compressor having a permanent magnet 107, inner and outer polepieces 115, 109, in the air-gap between which a coil 56 moves, the magnet and polepieces are held together solely by the magnetic field of the magnet. Either polepiece may have a boss, on which the magnet rests, lateral sliding being prevented by a conducting non-magnetic sleeve 111 (e.g. copper) brazed to either polepiece. Alternatively the sleeve may have radial projections fitting snugly inside the outer polepiece (Figs. 3, 4, not shown), or the magnet may simply engage in recesses in the polepieces.
