Abstract
768,399. Draughting-machines. GIRARD, E. P., and GEISSER, L. Jan. 25, 1955 '[July 17, 1954], No. 2162/55. Class 97(3) A T-square is held in contact with a drawing board by a magnet on one of them co-operating with, but separated by an air-gap from, an armature on the other, the T-square being provided with rollers which do not form part of the magnetic circuit. As shown, the head 4 of the T- square moves on rollers 11, preferably made of plastic material, over the soft iron strip on the drawing board 1. The head contains a magnet system comprising a permanent magnet, 9 with soft iron pole pieces 10; the whole being movable by an eccentric cam 12 to alter the separation from the strip 2. An electro-magnet may be used instead of a permanent magnet and may be mounted on the board with the associated armature on the T-square.
