Abstract

800,194. Universal joints. COACH FITTINGS DEVELOPMENT, Ltd. Jan. 28, 1957 [Jan. 26, 1956], No. 2570/56. Class 80 (2). A Hooke's joint comprises a central spider 5 formed with an integral pair of trunnions 9 pivoting in an axially split yoke 4, and a trunnion pin 8 passed through the spider and holes in a one-piece yoke 3. The spider 5 is of hexagonal cross-section with the integral trunnions 9 at opposite ends : a hole passing through two of the opposed hexagon surfaces receives the trunnion pin 8.
