[Class 80 (ii)] In a Hooke's type universal joint the coupling members 23, 12a are formed of tubes with U-shaped gaps 13 providing fork arms 14. Bosses 18 are welded or otherwise secured tc the arms 14 to provide the necessary journal area for receiving the arms 25, or bearing caps 27, of the intermediate spider.
