Class 80(2) A universal joint comprises driving and driven members a, a', with interengaging fork ends e, the inside surfaces of which are formed as frustums of cones with apices at the common centre of the joint. A ball c is embraced by inner part circular surfaces of the fork ends and is secured to the members a, a<SP>1</SP> by pins g, h. A double joint with an intermediate coupling piece is provided for cases where the axes of the shafts to be coupled do not meet.
