Abstract

1427170 Universal joints BENDIX CORP 5 Sept 1973 [5 Sept 1972] 41644/73 Heading F2U A universal joint comprises a central crossmember 40, whose arms 50, 60 are each connected to an arm 21, 31 of one of two yokes 20, 30 between which torque is to be transmitted, by frictionless resilient couplings 28, 38 inserted between the yokes and the arms. Each coupling 28, 38 may comprise a pair of C-shaped plates held in grooves 26, 26<SP>1</SP>, 36, 36<SP>1</SP> by brazing. The manufacture of the joint may be as in Specification 1,427,169.
