Abstract
The constant velocity joint is formed by using two Hookes couplings. A housing (11) supports the two opposite arms (14) of a cross shaped member (9) in roller bearings. A hollow cylindrical member (7) with fork ends supports similar bearings for the other two arms of the cross. The other end of the cylindrical member is connected by an identical cross-member (9) to a housing (25). The inner ends of the two housings (11, 25) are connected by a sliding ball and socket joint which maintains the angles of the axes of the end housing, equal to each other.
