Abstract
799,463. Refrigerating. REYNOLDS METALS CO. Sept. 26, 1956, No. 29435/56. Class 29 The freezer compartment of a refrigerator is formed from a single bonded sheet, shaped as shown in Fig. 6, and bent to from a generally tunnel-shaped compartment having a closed end, the end wall accommodating refrigerant receiver 31 and an accumulator 45. Preferably the sheet is roll-bonded. Refrigerant enters the receiver by line 49 and flows by lines 36 and 29 to the evaporator passages 28. A constricted passage 38 leads from the top of the receiver on the line 29 for the passage of hot refrigerant gas during defrosting. The evaporator is preferably in two sections 28, 42. Holes 54 may be punched in the end wall of the compartment to reduce heat exchanger between the receiver and the accumulator. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 747,328.
