791,270. Refrigerators. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. Aug. 31, 1956 [Sept. 29, 1955], No. 26656/56. Class 29 In a refrigerator having a condenser 54 in a compartment 42 and cooled by forced air circulation, the air inlet is located at the lower front of the cabinet and the outlet is in the top or the upper front, the inlet being concealed by the cabinet door when closed. The refrigerator has upper and lower high temperature and low temperature compartments 22, 30 refrigerated by a plate-type evaporator 62 concealed behind an air baffle 76 and an external evaporator coil 60 respectively. Front doors are provided and one 122 is not insulated at 124 opposite compartment 42. Fan 50 draws air under this part of the door at 120 and forces it over the compressor and the condenser, Which is located up the side of compartment 22, to top outlet 130. The cabinet forms part of kitchen furniture including cupboards 12, 16 the latter being set back to leave room for outlet 130. Defrost melt water from evaporator 62 runs down drain pipe 86 and shoot 88 to pan 48 and from evaporator 60 into a drip pan 34 when it flows through non-return flap valve 140 to pan 48. The pan is so mounted on guides that it rises as it is pulled forwards.
