Abstract
1319368 Refrigerating; defrosting BORSIG GmbH 13 Aug 1971 [17 Sept 1970] 38043/71 Heading F4H In apparatus for defrosting one or more evaporators 9 in a secondary refrigeration circuit, the fluid therein is cooled by heat exchange in an evaporator 3 of a first closed refrigeration circuit comprising a compressor 2, condenser 1, throttle valve 5 and the evaporator 3, and the fluid in the secondary circuit is passed into a defrost evaporator 4 for increasing its pressure when defrosting is necessary and thereafter supplying the pressurized secondary refrigerant to one or more of the evaporators 9. The pressure of the secondary refrigerant may be increased by heat exchange with the refrigerant of the primary circuit by operation of valves 6, 7 in a by-pass circuit, or an additional heat source is utilized, or a pump may be provided prior to entry to the evaporator 4 or a turbine thereafter. The secondary circuit includes a pump 10, valved conduits, and a liquid refrigerant collector and separator 8.
