745,870. Refrigerating; heat pumps. BRENTFORD TRANSFORMERS, Ltd. Dec. 7, 1954 [Dec. 22, 1953], No. 35659/53. Class 29. A refrigerator 1 is provided with a compression refrigerating system the evaporator 2 of which cools the refrigerator and the condenser 5 of which heats a hot water storage tank 6. To ensure refrigeration when the water in tank 6 is fully heated, the condenser 5 is cut out of and a second condenser 9, which is cooled by ambient air, is connected into the refrigerant circuit by operation of a valve 8. This valve is actuated to connect the condenser 9 in response to a predetermined rise in temperature of the refrigerator 1.
