Abstract

798,757. Dry shavers. SPERRY RAND CORPORATION. Jan. 26, 1956 [Jan. 26, 1955], No. 2624/56. Class 131 A cutter head for a dry shaver comprises a fixed outer cutter, a reciprocated inner cutter and a drive spring engaged by an oscillator arm and having one end formed as a hook non-slidably engaged in a transverse slot in one end of the inner cutter and the other end formed as a T-head for slidable connection in a key-hole slot in the other end of the inner cutter. As shown, an outer fixed cutter 14 is connected by a spacer 13 to a plate 20 detachably secured to a shaver casing 10 by spring clips 11, 12 and encloses an inner cutter 16 carried by a spring 15 one end of which is formed as a hook 24 engaging a slot 26 in the cutter 16 and the other end is formed as a T-head 25 slidably engaging a keyhole slot 27 in the cutter 16. The engagement of a loop 22 in the spring by a power driven oscillator arm 17 urges the inner cutter into cutting engagement with the outer cutter and angular portions 23 of the spring engage an opening 19 in the spacer 13 to centre the inner cutter when it is slid endwise into the outer cutter during assembly.
