Abstract
795,411. Regenerators. SVENSKA ROTOR MASKINER AKTIEBOLAG. April 30, 1956 [May 2, 1955], No. 13140/56. Class 64(1) A regenerative air pre-heater 10 having a motor carrying heat transfer material first through a heating fluid passage and then through an air passage includes sector plates 22, 24 in which the ports directing fluid flow out of the pre-heater are radially divided into a number of sections to separate the fluid flow into hot and relatively cool streams. The hot gas stream G2 and the cool air stream A1 are first passed through ducts 28 and 29, respectively, to a second pre-heater 12 and then returned by fans 40, 44 to junctions 32, 36 with the cool gas stream G1 and the hot air stream A2 leaving the pre-heater 10. A portion of the inlet air to the latter may be ducted directly to the pre-heater 12. The pre-heater 10 rotates at a slower speed than the pre-heater 12.
